Last Monday (May 3rd) the fantastic Parentsday took place, all in the theme 'Back to the Future'. After months of preparation, finally the big day arrived. Although the entire day was held online, it was a great success! And to be fair: the Parentsday should give parents an insight in student life, so an offline event would of course not have been a good representation after a year of predominantly online classes.
This year’s Parentsday was the perfect example of an online event that was interactive and a lot of fun! After some informational talks about Intermate and the bachelors, we had two superb lectures from Daniël Lakens for the Psychology and Technology students and Bart Wesselink for the Sustainable Innovation students; they showed how an online lecture can still be interactive and all the parents where enthusiastic. After this fantastic lecture we continued with a corresponding case, and to finish the morning program a virtual campus tour was held. After the lunch, facilitated by the TostCie (‘vo), we had some fun activities on our program: we had a super exciting pubquiz, and to finish the day off we held an online drink where all the parents stayed until the end to play some games.
After all, we as the Parentsday committee, look back on a successful day and received nothing but positive feedback from our participants!
