Interviewing Days: A Short History by Wervingsdagen

As a committee of Intermate, Wervingsdagen is hard at work organizing their last event of this academic year, the Interviewing Days. In this article, we look back at the modest beginnings of this event.

Did you know that the Interviewing Days is actually the oldest event Wervingsdagen organizes? Before it was rebranded as the “Interviewing Days”, the event was known to students as the “Gesprekkendagen”. The inaugural edition of the Wervingsdagen dates back to 1982. Here students could attend presentations and engage in one-on-one Interviews with recruiters from various companies. In 1986, it was decided to split the event into two separate occasions, thus giving rise to the Interviewing Days. The goal of this event stayed the same throughout the years: provide a platform for students to have meaningful conversations with recruiters.

Since those modest beginnings, the Wervingsdagen has undergone notable transformations. Besides having two more events, the Interviewing Days also look different. Lunches and Dinners were introduced, and 2018 saw the addition of Company Cases to the Interviewing Days.  Of course, the most striking difference is found in the location. This year, the Interviewing Days will be hosted inside the iconic Evoluon building.
