In a time of desperation, in the midst of a world-wide pandemic, I tried to contribute to society in the best way possible: debating the never ending dilemma “to Klok or to Klus”. In this article an attempt to tackle this tough decision was made, nevertheless almost two and a half years later, the age-old dilemma still seems to wonder around mind-boggling the lovely members of Intermate. With the new theme of the Intermania being “Off the Map” and recent technological advancements, the CieKlusKlus deemed it the perfect time to revisit the most discussed topic of 2020. Thus, within this article I will attempt to guide you towards completing life’s most precious step towards adulthood: whether to crack open a lukewarm Klok or start on that “do it yourself project” or repairment that has been waiting to be done.
As various well-respected and prestige authors have already concluded, the best option is to combine best of both worlds (de Hamer, 2020; ChatGPT, 2023). With the previously mentioned authors arguing that if not properly combined, precious time is being wasted and the feeling of complete fulfillment will never be reached. Which is why the industry is currently slowly integrating an integral approach on the ideal method to combine both sides. With the current grade-A verified step-by-step guide taking the form as presented down below:
Step 1: Choose Your Project Wisely
When it comes to combining klussing and klokking, it's important to choose a project that's both manageable and enjoyable. Choose the complication of a klus depending on the expected level of toxicity: the higher the toxicity, the better the creative aspects but the lower the coordination. Consider a project that you can complete in a reasonable amount of time or set on hold but ensure to leave plenty of opportunities for Klok breaks.
Step 2: Stock Up on Supplies
Before you get started, make sure you have all the tools and materials you need to complete your project. And of course, don't forget to stock up on Klok which is only 0.89 euro per 0.5 liter at your local supermarket (which actually is a 43.5% increase compared to 2020…). Do shopping while remembering that it's always best to have more than you think you'll need, just in case.
Step 3: Set the Mood
To truly get into the klussing and klokking mindset, it's important to set the mood. This could mean blasting your favorite tunes, cracking open your first Klok, and getting your workspace organized. Whatever it takes to get you in the zone. I suggest following this article for the optimal workplace vibes.
Step 4: Take Frequent Klok Breaks
The key to combining klokking and klussing is continuously sipping while also taking frequent breaks. This not only allows you to enjoy your Klok, but also gives you time to step back and evaluate your progress. Take a few sips, step back, and admire your work.
Step 5: Stay Safe
Safety should always be your top priority, especially when combining alcohol and power tools. Make sure to wear appropriate protective gear and use caution when handling sharp objects or heavy machinery. I recommend to always wear a neon orange (or green, depending on your klus-rank) construction workers’ vest.
Step 6: Enjoy the Fruits of Your Labor
Once your project is complete or it is time to set it on hold for now, it's time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Crack open a lukewarm Klok and bask in the satisfaction of a job well done. Lastly, remember that this approach can be iterated throughout the whole project. In other words, make sure to enjoy enough Kloks for each project phase (planning, preparing, executing phase 1, 2 & 3, inspecting, and testing).
So, there you have it, the current standard of combining klokking and klussing! Nevertheless, please keep in mind that this part of the industry is one of the most rapidly developing sectors. Thus, make sure to always execute the most current industry wide accepted plan of action.
