One of the bedrocks Intermate is built on is her committee system. Intermate committees organize various activities and publications for her members. Being part of a committee is a good opportunity to gain experience in organizing. Every committee is guided by a board member. Do you want to strengthen one of our commmittees? The bar committee is a big and fun committee that provides you with a weekly Thursday drink. Typical for drinks are the small prices for the huge amount of different beers, wines and sodas. There is also the opportunity to have (table) football competitions or chat with other students and teachers. Once in a while special drinks such as the Boy vs. Girls drink, the Live Music drink, Wine Tasting drink, the Christmas Party are organized. Moreover, we are able to provide drinks at events of other committees. All in all a hard working committees which revolves around a lot of fun drinks.
The CIE++ is the ICT committee of Intermate. They work very hard during a few weekends a year, to realize both handy but also fun ICT projects for Intermate.
The Gala committee makes sure that once in the two years an super nice gala is organized. Think about a beautiful location, tasty food, nice drinks and good music! A gala is nice event for everybody, because even if you think you can’t dance, after a few drinks this will change for sure and you will show your greatest dance moves on the floor. Go and look for your nicest suit or dress, because this party will be unforgettable!
The Intermania is Intermate’s association magazine that will feast your eyes four times a year. Filled with words, sentences and images it brings you everything that is interesting for students of P&T, SI, HTI and IS! Each edition, you can read articles about Intermate activities, interesting companies, experiences of students in their semester abroad and of foreign students studying here. Furthermore, there are columns, cartoons, a puzzle and other nonsense. If you don’t like reading, but do like drinking, you can win drink credit by sending in the puzzle answer and picking up your own Intermania before we send it to your house!
InterT.E.A.M. (“Inter Technical and Active People”) is the sports committee of Intermate. The committee has as a goal to bring up the sportive side in the members of Intermate. We organize several diverse sport events through the year. Next to that we arrange participation of Intermate teams during the Van Lint Sports Week and the Batavierenrace. Throughout the entire year you can participate in our Squashpiramid and become the best. We want to alert the members of Intermate that exercising is not only very healthy, but also fun to do!
Each year, the Intro Committee arranges the faculty program of the Intro week. The new freshmen meet them first, so it is their job to make the new students feel at home. In general, the intro week is seen as the most amazing week of the year! Next to the Intro, we also have an After Intro Committee, who organize another introduction weekend.
The Parents Day is traditionally hosted near the end of the year, offering an opportunity for parents and friends of our freshmen to get familiar with the Technical University of Eindhoven and the student’s way of life. The annually renewed Parents Day Committee has the important to task to assure a diverse range of attendees of an unforgettable and amazing day. Joining this committee in your first year gives you a responsible and very rewarding experience.
The Promotion Committee creates promotional material for virtually all committees of study association Intermate, including posters, business cards, logo’s, prints, banners and screen material.
The committee integrates web-, desktop publishing- and many other skills, together with a lot of creativity. Combined with the openness for new initiatives a PromoCie member can develop many skills and experiences. If you are interested you can simply join one of our weekly meetings to get an impression of our activities.
The Seminar and Excursion Committee, also known as the SExCie, is the committee within Intermate that makes education entertaining. With company visits, workshops and seminars the SExCie shows how our studies are implemented in real life. This addition to your curriculum is coupled with dinners and informal drinks to create a wonderful experience!
SjaarsCie or the Sjaars Committee organizes one or two amazing activities each year for all first year students of P&T and SI! At these amazing activities you will get to know co-freshmen even better, and get in touch with study association Intermate. These activities are organized by freshmen only. Are you a freshman? Make sure to keep track of what this committee is up to, because you won’t be a freshmen forever and you do not want to miss out on any activities!
The Smobo, short for Smoelenboek, is responsible for the yearbook of Intermate’s freshmen. We want to give everybody something so they can remember their awesome freshmen year. It gives a flashback to the fun activities they had, and looks back to all the cool and stupid things that took place. The Smoelenboek committee learns to be responsible for a big project, which teaches them a lot of skills.
Intermate’s one and only lunch committee, serving delicious tosti’s weekly during breaks for a minor compensation! Every two weeks they also present a new special tosti, of which the ingredients are carefully picked in order to delight your taste buds.”
The Skill Sessions are meant to learn to students some new ‘skills’. This is established by dozens of workshops in which students can participate free of charge. Each year, the Skill Sessions take place in the autumn.
The Career Expo is our biggest event. On these two days, about 140 companies will present themselves to the students with a stand. Also, several companies will provide presentations. We open the event with a presentation of a prominent speaker. It is not necessary to subscribe to visit the career expo.
The Interviewing Days are mostly meant for students that are coming to the end of their study. During these days there are two possible ways to get in contact with companies. The first of which is an interview. During an interview you will have a one on one conversation with a company. The conversation can be either exploratory or can even function as a job interview. So prepare yourself! The second possibility is to participate in a dinner. At each dinner table two recruiters and eight students will be present. This is a more informal way to get in contact with a company. Participation in the interviewing days is free for students. The subscription for the interviewing days run through this website.

Committee Wintermate organizes the annual wintersport holiday of Intermate. Usually, twenty to thirty people join this 10-day holiday. The committee arranges a destination, the transportation, residence, ski passes, promotion, and subscriptions. The committee members themselves of course also join the winter sports! This committee is ideal for winter sports lovers and/or people who like to start with committee work.
Next to committees, we also have volunteers.
Intermate houses two fraternities. A fraternity is a group of Intermate members who organize activities for each other on a regular basis. Every fraternity is obliged to organize an open activity at least once a year. The only way to become a member is by being asked.
