Come with us and explore the capital of our southern neighbors, Maastricht!
We will visit the Openbaar Ministerie and Vodafone after which we will have a surprise activity.
This time we have decided to travel the path so many of our students have to travel every day. We will start at Intermate walk along the campus to the famous “Limbopad”, named after all the students from Limburg who walk it. From the Limbopad we will continue our journey to the station and take the train to Maastricht. In Maastricht we will visit the Openbaar Ministerie and Vodafone. Besides these interesting visits there will be plenty of time for sightseeing, a good thing since Maastricht has all kinds of beautiful sights like the Meuse river, the fortifications and a nice and cozy inner-city. In the evening we will go to the city center and have a dinner on our costs!

Openbaar Ministerie (Public Prosecution Service):
The Public Prosecution Service (OM) and the courts together make up the judiciary. The Public Prosecution Service decides who has to appear before a court and on what charge. It is the only body that can decide to prosecute someone. Its field of work is criminal law.
Also the field of criminal law is innovating, one of the examples is the ZSM in which a case is handled in a single day!
Who doesn’t know the phone provider Vodafone, one of the major telecom businesses in the Netherlands! However, there is a lot going on in the field of telecom: through recent innovations telecom is becoming a larger part of our lives, and this brings along possibilities and risks. Hot topics for example are Big Data and privacy, security and the internet of things!
